Horizon West’s three nearest neighbors that are cities are Winter Garden, about 7 miles away, Clermont, about 9 miles, and Ocoee, about 11 miles. This page puts official figures for all four side by side. The biggest difference is not a number: Horizon West is not a city. It is unincorporated Orange County, so the county provides the services a city would, and its tax bill carries county levies where a city rate would be. Clermont is across the line in Lake County, with a different county government and school district.

Together, Horizon West’s two county levies come to 4.6480 mills. Ocoee also charges a Fire Protection Assessment of $383.90 a year per home, adopted Aug. 18, 2026, its tax facts site says; that is a flat charge, not a millage.

Orange County’s rate is from its FY 2027 millage summary, the Orange County School Board rate from Winter Garden’s budget in brief, and the Lake County rates from the Property Appraiser’s 2025 millage sheet. Library, water management and neighborhood districts add smaller amounts.
