Where it is
On the county’s village boundary map, Bridgewater runs from the north edge of Horizon West south to Village F, with the Town Center (Hamlin) on its west side and Lakeside Village and Lake Butler to the east. The county’s GIS layer puts it at about 4,500 acres, the second-largest of the six areas. Its plan entered the county’s comprehensive plan through amendment 1999-1-A-1-6, the oldest after Lakeside Village’s.
Main roads include New Independence Parkway, Porter Road, Ficquette Road and Bridgewater Crossings Boulevard. Its lakes, named in OpenStreetMap, include Lake Speer, Lake Hancock, Lake Cawood and Little Lake Sawyer. OpenStreetMap also marks Independence as a named neighborhood here.
ZIP codes: about 63% of the village’s land is in 34787 (mailed as Winter Garden) and 37% in 34786 (mailed as Windermere), we found by laying the county’s ZIP code layer over its village boundary.
Schools
Bridgewater is split between zones at every level. These shares are of the village’s land on the OCPS 2026-27 zone map, not of homes, so always check a single address with Find My School. Grades are Florida’s 2026 school grades, from the state’s grades file.
| Level | School | Share of village | 2026 grade |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elementary | Independence Elementary | 43% | A |
| Elementary | Keene’s Crossing Elementary | 37% | A |
| Elementary | Summerlake Elementary | 17% | A |
| Middle | Bridgewater Middle | 83% | A |
| Middle | Hamlin Middle | 17% | A |
| High | Windermere High | 52% | A |
| High | Horizon High | 48% | A |
A small slice on the east side is in the Windermere Elementary zone. Bridgewater Middle, Independence Elementary, Keene’s Crossing Elementary and Summerlake Elementary all have addresses inside the village. More on the district is in our schools guide.
Home values
Zillow does not publish a value for the village, so the two ZIP codes are the closest guide. In August 2026 the Zillow Home Value Index put the typical home at:
| Area | August 2026 | August 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZIP 34787 | $570,875 | $575,999 | -0.9% |
| ZIP 34786 | $702,439 | $702,203 | 0.0% |
| City of Winter Garden, for comparison | $566,535 | $572,431 | -1.0% |
The index is a modeled typical value for the middle third of homes, not a sale price. Both ZIP codes also take in homes outside the village. More is on our home prices page.
